GoBots is a toy line introduced in 1983 by Tonka. It inspired numerous works for fiction, including the animated television series Challenge of the Gobots. GoBots toys could change from robots to vehicles.
GoBots came from Japan as a toy line called "Machine Robo." Tonka got the rights to sell them in the US and called them GoBots.
