Blackbird Robo is a fictional character from the Machine Robo series. He is a member of the Jet Tribe who turns into a jet. He was introduced as a toy in 1984, but did not appear in fiction until 1986.

Machine Robo

Blackbird Robo is a heroic Machine Robo of the Jet Tribe who turns into a steath bomber jet. He was a resident of Gurian City when he came under the mental influence of the Gyandlar. His weapon is the Ionoid Sonic Wave.

Reception

Animated series

Blackbird Robo was first seen in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos episode #14, "Burn and Run, Brother and Sister Warriors!"

Blackbird Robo was among the hypnotized population of the Gurian City in episode #21, "The Heart of a Protecting Angel". Apollo Robo, Blackbird Robo, Falcon Robo and Shuttle Robo attacked Blue Jet when he attempted to enter the city, but Blue Jet easily knocked them all from the sky.[1]

The volunteers from Yamilan City take off for their mission of mercy in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos episode #27, "Maskrock, Knight of the Magical Mountain"

Blackbird Robo appeared in episode #27, called "Maskrock, Knight of the Magical Mountain". In the episode Blackbird Robo was part of a Yamilan City volunteer group lead by Rom Stol that went to retrieve the cure for Gyandlar rust poison gas which has effected Leina Stol and some school children. Blackbird Robo gave Missile Tank Robo a lift when they flew off for their mission.[2]

Blackbird Robo is last seen in episode #44, "Cronos's Last Battle", where he is standing with Harley Robo, Cessna Robo, Double Jet, Mixer Robo and Skyline Robo, seeing off Rom Stol and the Machine Robo leaving the planet Cronos inside Big Shuttle Robo.[3]
