The term Combiner Wars comes from the Transformers franchise and is used to describe conflicts involving Combiners, massive robots created by multiple smaller robots merging together.

Transformers

Generation 1

In the Transformers: Generation 1 continuity, the Combiner Wars are featured prominently in the Generations toy line and associated comics from IDW Publishing. In addition to featuring several previously introduced Generation 1 combiners-though none as yet with animal motifs such as Predaking-the line has introduced a number of new combiners, including:

Unicron Trilogy

"Ask Vector Prime" revealed that Combiner Wars also took place in the Unicron Trilogy continuity, with four teams of Micromasters forming Devastator, Rail Racer, Superion, and Defensor.

GoBots

The Renegade Rhetoric Facebook page shared an account of "Combiner Wars" taking place in the GoBots universe following the conclusion of the Challenge of the GoBots animated series. In this case the term is something of a misnomer, as the titular episodes feature only two back-to-back conflicts involving GoBot combiners Monsterous, Courageous, Puzzler, Fossilsaurus, and Nemesis. The page did feature several other accounts of battles between the Guardian and Renegade combiners, however.
