Certified CyberDefender (CCD) is a course and certification program offered by CyberDefenders, a cybersecurity training platform that focuses on defensive strategies.[1] The CCD certification is designed for various roles, including security operations center (SOC) analysts, threat hunters, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) professionals, and members of blue teams.[2]

The course aims to provide participants with training on real-world threats, defense strategies, threat-hunting techniques, adversary detection, and investigating security incidents and performing forensic analysis.[2]

Course content

The CCD program is comprised of six modules, which cover topics such as:

The course incorporates various tools and technologies, such as Elastic SIEM, Nessus, Sysmon, Suricata, and Wireshark,[3] and emphasizes practical, hands-on learning through its dense course content and lab exercises.[4] Additionally, CCD provides a safe and controlled environment for users to practice and test their knowledge.[5]

Exam and certification

The CCD exam is a practical assessment that spans 48 hours and evaluates students' skills in areas including threat hunting, perimeter defense, disk forensics, memory forensics, and network forensics.[6][2] The exam is graded on a pass/fail basis, with a minimum passing score of 70%.[4][7] Upon successfully passing the exam, students receive a CCD physical coin, an electronic certificate, and a digital badge.[8][3][9]

Instructors

The CCD course is taught by experienced instructors, including Muhammad Alharmeel and Ahmed Shawky, who hold multiple certifications in both defensive and offensive domains.[2]
