Jordan Chandler was a friend of controversial singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, when he was a twelve-year-old child and Jackson was an adult.[1][2] Chandler's parents Evan and Joan extended a lot of trust in Jackson, allowing him to spend a lot unsupervised time with their children, particularly Jordan.

Evan was a dentist, who had written some unpublished, unproduced screenplays, when the Chandlers met Jackson. Through Jackson's influence Evan was able to get some of his screenplays produced.

Chandler's father sued Jackson in 1993, when Jordan was thirteen years old. Jackson later settled out-of-court for $22 million.[2][3] The Chandlers were the first family to accuse Jackson.[4]

In 2005, the Chandlers were one of the families who sued Jackson for abusing their children.

Evan committed suicide in 2009, a few months before Jackson's own death.[5]
