Stax is a fictional character made by X-Transbots as a third party Transformer. Stax is an homage to the 1986 Transformers Autobot Pipes.

X-Transbots

Stax is an homage to the 1986 Generation 1 Autobot Pipes. He turns from a robot to semi-truck. He has no connection to the 1995 Decepticon character Staxx or the GoBots character Staks.

Other third party Transformers that homage Pipes include iGear's Tubes.

Development

Stax was designed by toy a designer called 539, and developed along side X-Transbots Krank.

X-Transbots released the first images of Krank and Stax on their Facebook page in July 2013.[1] X-Transbots confirmed on their weibo page that they moved up the reveal of Krank and Stax in response to the reveal of Cubex's homage to Huffer.

Art and prototype images of Krank and Stax were previewed at TFcon 2013's Third Party Panel.[2]

Prototype images of Stax were posted on the X-Transbots Facebook page in September 2013.[3]

Reception

In the Fwooshcast podcast for July 22nd, 2013 Krank and Stax were one of the news topics. One of the hosts compared Krank to the Huffer homage by Cubex, and said he liked Krank more.[4]

The Retro Robot Radio podcast for September 14th, 2013 covered Krank and Stax in the news.[5]
