Dropshot is part of the Decepticon Military Patrol. [1] He is always fighting, even when no one else is. He takes every opportunity to pick a fight, and is always the first guy to throw a punch (or fire a missile). If the robot he’s fighting with doesn’t fight back, well, that’s fine with Dropshot. The way he looks at it, anyone who doesn’t fight is a coward and deserves a beating. He’s not really interested in having a reason to fight, and he doesn’t care whether his side wins or loses, as long as he gets to pound on someone. Other Decepticons avoid him, unless there are Autobots around for him to pick on. [2]

He wants to replace Bombshock as leader of the team.

Dreamwave Productions

Dropshot appeared in issues #2, #3 and #4 of the Micromasters limited series.

Dropshot has a one-page biography in Dreamwave's More Than Meets The Eye series.

IDW Publishing

Dropshot was among the Micromasters who appeared in Spotlight: Hardhead who attacked Nightbeat and Hardhead on the planet Gorlam Prime.

A vehicle appearing nearly identical to the alternate form of Universe Dropshot appears in the U.S. Army camp in All Hail Megatron #5. He is later revealed to be a Decepticon spy. Considering the first Dropshot is a Micromaster currently on another planet, it seems there are two Dropshots in the IDW continuity.
