Whiteboard Challenge is a satirical reality game show based on the tech industry's job interview practices.[1]

History

Michael Kureth created and trademarked Whiteboard Challenge. It is a three-paneled judge show with a theme of legitimate software engineers solving code tests until a contestant gets withdrawn for the time-restricted challenge phase to commence.[1]

Whiteboard Challenge initiates the discourse of structural hiring biases in the industry to dismantle the normalized discriminated narrative and raise awareness towards the inevitable modern repercussions, such as imminent isolation and the homelessness crisis emerging in the wake of following the draconian status quo recruitment process.[1][2]

Whiteboard Challenge, with its racial inclusivity[3] and gender diversity approach,[4] voices the societal challenges to transition into the constructive dynamics of empathy, support, and humanity with the local Los Angeles and global tech startup community.[1]

The show was first filmed in April 2019 at Cross Campus in Downtown Los Angeles,[5] and premiered in Los Angeles in September 2019 at the Cinemark theatre, with public contestant voting.[6] In February 2020, Whiteboard Challenge was screened at the TCL Chinese Theatre, Golden State Film Festival.[7]
