Kristen Clougherty
Born 1975
Nationality USA

Kristen Clougherty was an American woman who pretended to be cancer victim.[1][2] Supporters organized the First Annual Kristen Clougherty 5K Run/Walk to raise funds for her.[3] Supporters were reported to have raised $50,000, intended to help pay her medical expenses. Clouherty spent the funds on personal items and services, including a new car, liposuction and artificial breasts.

Irish Echo reported that, prior to the charity race, legitimate charity workers detected Clouherty hoax, and the $10,000 raised at that event was directed to a legitimate charity.[4]
