These 911 articles are (mainly) articles I wrote...

John, at the end of this link there are three short paragraphs. I request you read them. Those paragraphs cover how an analysis of the recordings of 9-1-1 calls used the call of Melissa_Doi to highlight a failure of the 911 operators, during the attack.

Those analyzing the 9-1-1 recordings criticized the operator for (1) giving Doi false hope of rescue; (2) keeping her on the line, when, given that she was likely to die very soon, and could have spent those last moments trying to phone her family. The analysts took the position it was better for someone who was about to die to know the truth, and keeping them anxiously expecting a last minute rescue made their last minutes even more stressful.

I think those three brief paragraphs are well written. I think they cover something important. And I am directing them to your attention because I think they illustrate a factor I think is extremely important in how articles should interconnect on an online encyclopedia.

The references used for these three brief paragraphs are also highly relevant to an article on 9-1-1 operators. They are also highly relevant to articles on responding to emergencies, and on how to deal with those about to die. Those other articles could link to Melissa Doi, and vice versa.

I think this helps illustrate a point I have tried to make to you in several other places. Online encyclopedias, like the Citizendium and Wikipedia, work best when articles are kept small, focussed, and are richly linked to other related articles. Their usefulness is strongly eroded when related topics, topics that are well enough referenced they could stand on their own, are arbitrarily merged into articles on some of those related topics.

Please, don't just dismiss this as gibberish. Please really think about this.

Now if we took the comments you made earlier at face value, those three paragraphs don't even belong in the Citizendium.
