Mahba Alvi is a Pakistani makeup artist and entrepreneur, best known for founding the Diamant Lounge chain of salons and the Mahba's skin and hair care brand.
Early life
Alvi was born in Pakistan and grew up in a family of hair and makeup artists. Her mother ran a salon, where Alvi spent most of her childhood observing and learning the art of hairstyling and makeup. At the age of 13, Alvi started practicing her skills by experimenting with makeup on herself and her friends. She later honed her skills by watching YouTube tutorials and practicing on her own.
Career
Alvi's career began when she was in the 8th grade and visited her mother's salon to ask for pocket money. She found the salon staff struggling to satisfy a dissatisfied customer and offered to style the client's hair. The customer was satisfied with the result, and Alvi earned her first paycheck of PKR 800. This experience encouraged Alvi to pursue a career in makeup and hair styling.
In 2014, Alvi launched her first salon, Diamant Lounge, in Daska, Pakistan. The salon gained popularity due to its high-quality services, and soon Alvi opened a second branch in Gujranwala. Alvi's success in the beauty industry led her to launch her own skincare and haircare brand, Mahba's, in 2019. The brand offers a range of skincare and haircare products, including facial creams, shampoos, and conditioners.
Alvi's success as a makeup artist and entrepreneur has earned her a large following on social media, with over 100k followers on Instagram. She is known for her signature style, which blends traditional Pakistani makeup techniques with modern trends.
