Ketan Dattani a British entrepreneur and environmental health specialist, has more than 23 years of experience in recruitment and has a high profile.[1] He is widely documented as an expert on Employee rights, Employment Law and for providing Careers Advice.[2] Ketan has been featured on London billboards and in numerous prominent media publications.

Personal life

He was born in Leicester in the early 1970s after his parents were forced to go to the UK from their birthplace of Uganda by Idi Amin the military dictator, to seek employment. Initially, they lived in a rented room and then allocated a flat in a council estate.[3]

Education

He established a passion for nature and the environment at a young age, as he used to spend his summer holidays with his grandparents in Coventry. Having failed miserably in the school system, his interest in environmental issues led him back to academics.[4] He got admission in Environmental Biology and worked in a laboratory as a trainee medical microbiology after his graduation. He further pursues his studies in Environmental Planning and Management and completed his master’s in 1998.[5][6]

He also holds a Certificate in Recruitment Practice and The Certificate in Employment Law – both nationally recognized recruitment qualifications developed by the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation).[3]

Career

After completing his master’s degree in 1998, he struggled but couldn’t find a job in the environmental sector[2] and worked in medical recruitment and was promoted to lead consultant in two years. Aiming to help people with the environmental sector, he started environmental recruitment divisions in many companies and worked for 6 years.[5][6] Ultimately, setting up his own recruitment firm Buckingham Futures, in 2013.[2]

Ketan is the Founding Owner and CEO of Buckingham Futures, an award-winning recruitment business, providing environmental health bespoke recruitment and consultancy solutions across the Private and Public sectors nationwide.[3] He has also written many articles on the topics like managing teams remotely,[7] juggling a family with remote working and others,[8][9] also written chapters in 2 books.[5]

Ketan is passionate about volunteering outside of his regular business hours. He partners with several schools, colleges and universities to help students achieve their potential at Buckingham Futures.[1] He also volunteers and sponsors social events at a local integrated nightclub for people with learning disabilities.[1]

Critical reception

He has been featured on the cover of High-Profile Magazine, which was published on April 15, 2021,[5] interviewed by Rafael dos Santos.[6] In SME News Business Elite Awards 2021, he was given the accolade of being the leading specialist in environment health recruitment.[10][11]
