Early Life and career

Karl Hargestam was born and raised in Sweden. At the age of 21, Karl Hargestam left his homeland of Sweden with the goal of reaching out to unreached people in Africa with the Gospel.[1][2][4] Currently, Karl resides in Bakersfield, California, and holds American citizenship.

Joshua Campaign International

Karl and his wife Jennifer founded "Joshua Campaign International", an innovative mission and evangelism initiative with a central goal of offering "One Chance for Every Person" to encounter the Gospel message.[1][2][4] The Joshua Campaign is an organization that collaborates with various Christian churches, denominations, associations, ministries, and movements worldwide.[5]

Karl Hargestam's ministry is the scope of his evangelistic endeavours. His crusades have attracted gatherings that surpass 300,000 attendees during a single service.[2][4] These occasions have also contributed to the establishment of numerous churches, resulting in an impact on various communities across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.[1][4]

CityServe

Karl Hargestam holds the position of Executive Director at CityServe.[6][7][8] This organization works in collaboration with churches and community leaders to provide resources and build relationships for transformative impact.[9]

CityServe has been engaged in providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees, reflecting its commitment to global humanitarian efforts.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16]

The organization expanded its activities into Central America with the establishment of CityServe Costa Rica, highlighting its broader outreach efforts.[14]

CityServe's initiatives include eviction prevention programs and rental relief efforts, demonstrating a commitment to community well-being.[17][18][19][20][21]

Food Box Program

The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program is an initiative established under the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.[22][23][24][25] The program aims to distribute fresh and nutritional food to those in need, facilitated by partnerships between USDA-approved suppliers, nonprofit organizations, and local churches or points of distribution (PODs).[22][24][26]

CityServe, a collaborative network of churches, is involved in this effort, serving as a HUB to coordinate the distribution process.[23][26] Through this program, food boxes containing fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat are delivered to PODs, which then distribute them to vulnerable communities.[22][23][24][25]

Humanitarian Efforts

Karl Hargestam has been involved in humanitarian endeavors:

  • He has played a role in CityServe's global projects in locations such as Turkey, Syria, Ukraine, and Costa Rica.[10][11][13][14][15][16]
  • Karl played a key role in CityServe's mission in Ukraine, where the organization provided relief to those affected by ongoing conflicts.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][27][28]

Working with PMI Foods, Karl's collaboration facilitated meal provisions for Ukrainian refugees.[13][16][29] CityServe's partnerships, including one with the New York Jets, have also bolstered humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.[30]
