Gaithersburg, Maryland building collapse

The collapse, at 8:40am, November 16, 2022, left one dead, two critically injured, and eight others with lesser injuries.[1] Authorities say 36 year old Juan Pablo Marshall Quizon caused the collapse when he committed suicide.[2]

On Wednesday November 16, 2022, a Gaithersburg, Maryland building collapse was attributed to the suicide of one of the building's residents.[1] Authorities reported that 36 year-old Juan Pablo Marshall Quizon left a suicide note.[2][3] Fourteen other residents were injured, in the collapse, and no one is believed to be missing.

Two adults were reported to have suffered critical injuries.[1] Four of the non-critically injured residents were children. Four other residents had their injuries treated at the scene. By Friday, November 18, 2022, all the injured had been released from hospital.[2]
