Delta Air Lines Flight 520 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight on April 26, 2024, between John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, USA, to Los Angeles International Airport in California, USA. The flight had lost its right side evacuation slide mid-flight. The whole plane began making a vibration effect forcing the crew to make a return to John F. Kennedy International Airport.[1][2][3]

The aircraft involved was a 33 year old Boeing 767-332ER delivered to Delta Airlines in November 1990. The regristration number is N176DN with a serial number of 25061 LN:341.[4]

The FAA reported that the Evacuation slide broke out just after takeoff and the plane had only been airborne for around 33 minutes before it was forced back to John F. Kennedy International Airport. The long time used aircraft had been downed and evaluated. The FAA investigation is still ongoing.[5]

The evacuation slide that had fallen off Delta Air Lines Flight 520 on April 26, 2024, had been found in Queens, New York washed up near Beach 131 street.[6]
