Clifford Bailey
Clifford Bailey (born 1969) is an American fine artist and painter.[1]
Early life and education
Bailey was born in Miami in 1969. He holds holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from School of Visual Arts, New York (1991).[2]
Career
Residing in Los Angeles since 2001, Bailey stages regular exhibitions of his paintings in notable galleries, boutiques, hotels, restaurants and cafes, wineries, and private homes.[3]
Baileys subject matter ranges from celebrity portraits to vintage street scenes; and he is perhaps best known for his jazz and musical series, his men in pointed suits, and his theatrical symphony orchestra scenes.[4]
As a travelling artist, Bailey runs his arts career staging regular exhibitions of his paintings in notable nightclubs, galleries, boutiques and private homes. Among his notable collectors include Howard Fishman,[5] Dave Barry, Phil Collins, Rita Coolidge and several others.[6] His paintings are featured in notable restaurants and hotels across the United States.[7][8]
In 1994, Bailey painted Voodoo Lounge live in front of the Rolling Stones on Thanksgiving for their Thanksgiving Pay-per-view event featuring Sheryl Crow, Robert Cray, and Bo Diddley.[9][10]
In 1997, The Wallflowers used Bailey’s work as cover art on the single Three Marlenas.
In 1999, Bailey’s work was published and distributed worldwide by Canadian publishers Art in Motion. Bailey was among the featured artists at the Napa Valley Film Festival' ' in 2012.[11]
In 2017, Bailey’s portrait of Groucho Marx is seen in the documentary film about late comedian Gilbert Gottfried called Gilbert.[12][13]
From 2009-2020 Clifford Bailey exhibited his Hollywoodlandseries of paintings at The Arclight Hollywood.[14][15]
In 2021, Clifford’s painting was featured in the Microsoft Windows 11 commercial titled Journey directed by Tarsem Singh.
