Allure Beauty Box is a New York City-based online beauty subscription service that sends its subscribers a box of cosmetic products every month.[1] Each month’s box contains at least six deluxe haircare, skincare, makeup, and/or fragrance items,[2] with the assortments selected by Allure beauty editors based on their knowledge and expertise.[3]

History

Allure Beauty Box is powered by NYC-based beauty media brand, Allure. The brand was established in 1991 by Conde Nast and is currently being helmed under the leadership of editor-in-chief Jessica Cruel. The brand was launched in 2012 as Allure Sample Society through an e-commerce partnership with BeautyBar. In 2015, it became Allure Beauty Box and the majority of operations were brought in-house the following year, including product procurement, brand relations, merchandising, and marketing. The company’s products are tested and approved by Allure's beauty editors.[4]

Platform

Allure Beauty Box memberships can be purchased on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or gift basis. In addition to monthly boxes, the company has an online marketplace where members can purchase beauty products at discounted prices. The brand also curates limited edition boxes four times per year, including an annual Allure Best Of Beauty Awards Box, which leans into Allure's beauty awards franchise.[5]

Subscription service

The subscription service offers boxes containing both full size and sample size products. Every month, members receive at least six skincare, haircare, makeup, and/or fragrance products, including at least three full size items.[6][7]

New subscribers receive a free gift upon signing up and every box contains at least $100 worth of products. Members also get access to exclusive discounts on editors’ favorite luxury products and limited edition boxes. Members can also sometimes expect a bonus product in their beauty package.[8][9]
