Identity

Pakistan's Daily Times reports that a man named Abdul Sattar Nafeesi, from Mian Channu, was repatriated to Pakistan in the fall of 2004.After being released Nafeesi became a teacher of urdu because he holds a Masters degree in urdu. Nafeesi is now a teacher of Urdu in Punjab College Khanewal a branch of Punjab group of colleges in khanewal,his students say that he is a very good teacher and a good man but he do not talk about his past life much .

Detention

According to Pakistan's the The Nation Nafeesi reported that he was tortured. He was quoted as saying: “The Americans removed our beards and have been spitting over the holy Book,”

Release

The Daily Times reported that Abdul Sattar Nafeesi was repatriated with sixteen other men. The seventeen men were released from Pakistani custody on June 28 2005. According to Daily Times Punjab's chief minister’s adviser on religious affairs, Maulana Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, said local authorities wanted to investigate whether the men had been brainwashed and were still involved in any terrorist activity.

There is no record that Abdul Sattar Nafeesi's enemy combatant status was reviewed by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal.
