Overview

Headquartered in Denver, CO, Westside Behavioral Care increases access to mental health care by allowing patients to schedule appointments[17] in minimum time through their website or calls and accepts most major insurance plans.[8][11] The company matches people with therapists based on their individual needs and provides sessions in-person or online through its videoconferencing software.[18][9][10][12][13][14][15][16]

The company provides licensed therapists, clinical social workers, psychologists, and professional counselors[4] who undergo background, licensing, and education checks and meet ongoing performance standards.[8][10][14][15] These therapists work under a therapist-contractor model. A total of 235[17][16] licensed therapists are currently affiliated with the company. Westside Behavioral Care expects to reach 250 by the end of 2022. Its staff represents a range of clinical backgrounds and specialties within the spectrum of outpatient behavioral health services, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy, marriage therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy.[19]

History

Westside Behavioral Care, Inc. was founded in June 1998[7] by Owner, and Director, Thomas R. Giles,[5] a clinical psychologist[8][9][10][11][12][15] specializing in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder,[13] panic disorder, and bulimia. He has been published in numerous papers. Before founding the company, Giles served as an Executive Director for Cigna Behavioral Care of Colorado. Giles collaborated with several managed care companies to maximize the effectiveness of psychotherapy across a broad range of disorders.[7]

Recognition

Westside Behavioral Care was named PacifiCare’s Top Therapists in Denver for four consecutive years.[7] It is accredited A+ by Better Business Bureau.[10][12][13][15]
