Like all other wikis that use WMF software, this wiki has various namespaces. Please don't start articles in the Wikialpha: Talk: Template: etc namespace.

Articles you are ready for the public to read go in the main namespace -- ie not preceded by a prefix. The User: namespace is for telling other contributors about yourself, your interests, your skills, and so on. The User talk: namespace is where you and other contributors will leave notes for one another, about your contributions. File: is for uploading images.

Normally, beginners won't need to write to any other namespace, with the exception of wikialpha:Community Portal, where messages relevant to the entire project go.
