A seasoned soprano and songwriter, Lani Bernard is known for creating music geared towards positive transformation. She has also been around the world, serving as a celebrity vocal coach who toured and performed with Grammy-Award-winning artists. Lani sings in English, Hawaiian, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, and Latin.

At present, Lani is the Kapila Institute’s Executive Director for healing music. Her role focuses mainly on marketing concerts, workshops, and seminars, and overseeing outreach programs.

She also currently produces concert tours and performs at conventions held by Microsoft, Lexus, Time Warner, and Wells Fargo, to name a few. In the past, she has also been part of major productions like that of the “First Night Maui Festival,” an alcohol and drug-free New Year celebration with 7000 attendees. She handled the festival’s operations, marketing, promotion, and sales in cooperation with the county and a number of sponsors.

Music and Inspiration Lani Bernard helped and guided a lot of people in reaching their dreams. Some of her students and clients are famous people hailing from Hawaii like Camile Valsco who joined American Idol, Brown Bags to Stardom winner Damon Williams, Destination Stardom winner Forte’, and more. Others went on to appear in popular sitcoms and sign with major label companies like Sony, MCA, and Time Warren Records.

Besides her musical prowess, she is also a celebrated inspirational speaker, workshop leader, best-selling co-author, and film co-producer. Lani appeared on several international talk shows like Good Morning Australia and the Mike Douglas Show and in networks like American One Television. She also had the opportunity to open for other inspirational speakers and lead workshops for universities like Cornell, Harvard, and Stanford.

Throughout her successful career as an entrepreneur and inspirational speaker, she leads people to maximize the power of music in building harmonious relationships and effective communication.

By merging spiritual ideals and the concept of healing music, she helped produce events that raise awareness and bring success and millions of dollars to a number of non-profit organizations like the Hamakua Retreat Center and Spa.

She started out as an entrepreneur, owning “Flowers by Lani” which operated from 1978 to 1981. Although it lasted only for a few years, the business was featured in national television and publications like Women World Magazine and Star Magazine. It also catered to notable events like the televised wedding of Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenners and Lynda Thompson.

In 1984, while working as a freelance artist, she became President of “Roses International,” a Sydney-based renowned flower company with annual revenue of $150,000.00. After three years, she sold it to her employees for $100,000.00. While at Roses International, Lani was able to create a unique and award-winning designer line called Fidora which was carried in national elite outlets including Blooming Dales, Liberty House, Macy’s, and Neiman Marcus. She also sold the company to her employees after four successful years.

In the following years, Lani continued to help in establishing companies by working as a designer and consultant. She made successful tandems of companies which brought in huge profits to the businesses involved.

When 1993 came, that’s when Lani Bernard decided to focus on production (concert, workshops, and seminars), performing, and organizing community outreach and fund-raising activities like what she still does to this day.
