Tresor Lubamba

Tresor Kutshina Lubamba (born July 26, 1981) is a Canadian filmmaker. He is the founder and CEO of Trevas Films, a production company that delivers scripted and non-scripted content to platforms and broadcasters.[1]

Early life and education

Lubamba was born in The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and is a resident of Ottawa. He holds a diploma in Computer Programming from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.

Career

Lubamba started his career as a videographer in 2006. In 2009, he started a video production company in Ottawa that focused on special events like weddings, concerts, and music videos.[2][3]

In 2017, Lubamba founded a media arts organization named Trevas Productions Inc. which produces innovative, high-quality, and varied television and digital films of all genres and specializes in creating inventive content in fiction, documentary, and youth programming.[4][5]

As a director, his most recent film is The Project, which screened at the Ottawa Black Film Festival,[6][7] International Film Festival of Ottawa, Digi60 Ottawa Digital Filmmakers' Festival,[8] Congo Filmz, Move Me Film Festival, and others.[9] On January 7, 2022, Lubamba signed his first TV deal with Bell Fibe TV1 and produced and directed several documentary series like Urban Paradoxes, Designed by Us, La chanson d'évasion, and la Richesse de la santé.

In 2016, Lubamba wrote his first web series Trophée Perdu, and directed it in 2017, which was screened at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa on July 28, 2018. In 2018, he wrote his second web series, Ndombolo Effect.[10][11]
