The Blunt is an Indian video on demand and over-the-top media service currently owned and operated by Dramashop Media Private Limited. It is headquartered in Indore, M.P. According to the founder Ambar verman, the intention behind creating the blunt is to attract individuals from central India who can find opportunities for acting.[1]

It has 150M+ impressions and 60M+ views on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. It has collaborated with more than 100 local talents.[1]

Background

The Blunt was founded by Ambar Verman alongside Yash Chouhan, Adhir Dubey, and Ayush Jain.[2] All of them hailed from Madhya Pradesh. Ambar studied engineering and worked as brand head at Stage and content head at Trell [3][4] while Yash, Adhir and Ayush studied computer engineering and started working as IT professionals. Yash worked as Kronos tech lead, Adhir and Ayush worked in ConsultAdd and Forgeahead as software engineers respectively.[1] In 2016 the trio came together to form an IT company called American chase.[1] In 2020, they met Ambar verman who proposed an idea to start a media production company which later came to be known as The Blunt.[5]

Pyaar Vs Dosti (2021 - present)

Pyaar vs. Dosti is a television series produced by The Blunt.[7] It centers around the intricate interaction between the characters Radhika and Kundan. The storyline follows their evolving relationship dynamics as they navigate the complexities of friendship and romantic involvement.[8] The series explores the interplay between the concepts of affection (Pyaar) and camaraderie (Dosti) within the context of human relationships. The 1st season was released in 2021. It Is available to be watched on Zee5 OTT Platform.[9]

Faltu Engineers (2022)

"Faltu Engineers" is a dark comedy web series that focuses on the landscape of India's employment and skill labour scenario.[10] The series centers around the experiences of two engineers, Santosh and Gaurav, as they navigate the challenges presented by the prevailing state of joblessness and underemployment within the engineering sector.[11] As the protagonists grapple with their own aspirations,[12][2] they find themselves in a constant struggle to break free from the societal stereotypes that unjustly associate engineers with a lack of opportunities.[13] Through its satirical and thought-provoking narrative. The series was released on 11 June 2022 on the YouTube channel of Blunt. It was released in the Hindi language. it is also available to watch on Zee5 OTT platform.[13][14]
