Tanveer Ahmed Born on 12th August 1983, to an Indian mother and father of Iraqi origin, Tanveer wears many hats, he is an actor, filmmaker, content creator, coach, and entrepreneur. He has gained popularity for his unique ways of running acting & filmmaking courses. Tanveer is the founder of Dubai-based, Creative Bites Academy, an academy with revolutionary training methods in the field of acting, filmmaking & public speaking. The unique training methods of Tanveer Ahmed and Creative Bites Academy have attracted aspiring actors and filmmakers from all over the world in recent years. Many media outlets have reported on his unique techniques for training people. Many of his acting training & slapstick comedy videos have gone viral hitting several million views internationally.

Early Life & Family

Tanveer is the son of a part-time videographer/taxi driver, Mr. Rafiq Ahmed. His father used to make him perform scenes in front of the camera from the early age of 3 years. His father used to hold many shoot and drama performances in-house, just for the sake of creatively involving Tanveer and his other four siblings.

Education

Tanveer’s early education was at a government school in India. He belonged to a lower-middle-class family, so government schooling was the only option. Tanveer graduated in finance in the year 2003. After graduation, he pursued a Master’s in Finance and Post-Graduation degree in business management simultaneously. In the later years, Tanveer also successfully completed professional qualifications like CMA from the IMA, USA, and Chartered Portfolio Manager qualification from the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM). He also worked in the field of investment banking for a few years before quitting it to join full-time in the media profession.

Life in theaters

Tanveer has been part of professional theaters since the early age of 10 years. He has produced, written, directed & acted in over 60 or more theatrical performances in his early life. The theatrical exposure gave him a very strong foundation in the field of acting & on-stage performance. He was exposed to, fascinated & inspired by the teachings of Konstantin Stanislavsky & Michael Chekhov.

Radio performances

With his master Aziz-Ur-Rahman, Tanveer performed several radio plays for the national radio channels, which seemingly prepared him for voice acting. His first performance on National Radio Channel was at the age of 13 in the year 1996.

Street Plays

In the year 2002, Tanveer and his theater group were appointed by the state government to run several street-play performances as a part of the social awareness campaign. Over months Tanveer and his theater troop performed several street plays for live audiences on railway stations, markets, airports, streets, etc. The head of state police honored Tanveer and his troop for their commitment to such social causes.

Film Festivals & Awards

Tanveer has produced, written, directed & acted in over 40 different short films until now. Many of his short films have won awards in local and international film festivals. Tanveer won Zee TV’s popular choice award in 2013 for his comedy short film ‘How to train your husband’, He was selected as part of the top 6 UAE filmmakers in 2015 by HUM TV network for his short film ‘Toast to a Ghost’, He was honored and interviewed at Abu Dhabi National Theater for his short film ‘George Must Die’(Based on suicide), the movie also won best movie award in Texas Film Festival in the later years. Tanveer was also chosen as top 11 foreign filmmakers by MIFF (Asia’s largest film festival run by the Government of India). Many of his short films have been released and showcased in cinema halls in UAE as part of different film festivals.

Foundation of Creative Bites Academy

After shifting to UAE in the year 2006, Tanveer produced & directed his first short film ‘Toast to a ghost’ in Abu Dhabi in the year 2008, which was later awarded in several international film festivals. As this film was very well received in international film festivals Tanveer set out on the journey to make more short films, which required him to cast more actors who could act in front of the camera. With his years of theatrical background, Tanveer started holding acting workshops in Abu Dhabi in the year 2009, with the intent to later cast these actors in his short film. As his workshops started attracting more audiences in the coming years, Creative Bites Academy was officially founded with the prime motive to help build the acting and film industry of UAE.

Tanveer as a coach

As an Acting, filmmaking & public speaking coach, Tanveer seems to be a more favorable option to many internationally, as his teaching methods truly resonate with the current generation. Many of his training videos which have gone viral, hitting millions of views on the internet, clearly reflect his unapologetic, non-preachy, and practical style of training.
