They are introducing new fonts to users, FontBD started its journey in November 2020 with the help of CEO and co-founder Sharif Uddin Shishir and co-founder and advisor Zayed Ahsan. In just one year and three months, 283 fonts of FontBD have come to the market, which have been downloaded more than 3,616,058 times. FontBD works with both types of fonts. Their ANSI fonts are compatible with Vijay Encoding developed by Anand Computers. So there is no need to learn any new software to use this font. Unicode fonts do not have this problem, and can be used beautifully on all types of devices.

Biography

Keeping in mind the events that happened with language in 1952 and thinking about the progress of the script of our own language, he started working with the idea of ​​creating and spreading fonts in the Internet world. Young Sharif Uddin Shishir of Chittagong, Not only limited to creating fonts, but also the fonts created by themselves, other people who are creating fonts started to keep their created fonts in one place through a website called 'FontBD'.While there are free fonts, there are also premium fonts. He is working as the chief executive officer of this initiative. In addition to creating your own, this website also offers fonts created by many font creators. In total there are now 284 fonts on the site. These fonts have been downloaded about 3,616,058 time.

Early life

When asked how he got involved in the creation of Bengali fonts, Shishir said, "Since childhood, I had a lot of inclination towards drawing and I loved to write." still love From that love, now I train to learn handwriting. Shishir, a handwriting teacher at Halishahar Cantonment Public School and College in Chittagong said, handwriting is an addiction of mine. And so I wrote wherever I got the chance. People have many kinds of hobbies. My favorite hobby was writing or doing art.And from his love for writing, he got involved in writing banners, signboards, painting etc. Shishir said, while working with graphics, it seems that every design is beautified by a beautiful arrangement. Arranged writing is what we now call 'typography'. Every time I make a design, I feel that if I write each text or letter differently, something new can be added to the design. During the 2018 safe road movement, I made a typography and shared it on a Facebook page called 'Matra'. I got a lot of appreciation for your typography in the comments of the post I shared. From there, I met two people named Ahmed Sharif and Raihan who talked about developing my typography as a Bengali font. That is the beginning of my Bengali font creation. That was the beginning and on 2 October 2018 the first self-made font 'Sharif Shishir' was released as a calligraphy and handwriting font. The font gained popularity in a very short time.

Bengali Fonts and Future Since the use of Bengali is increasing more than ever, many people are interested in creating fonts. Some are also taking it as a profession. But in the beginning, many suffer from depression. Especially nowadays, many people are disappointed by font piracy. In this case, the main thing is to do one's work without being disappointed. And as the demand for fonts increases, he also thinks that the market will increase. Shishir said that he has started a special course for making Bengali fonts for those who are interested. There is also a special course for those who are interested in making Bengali fonts. Both ASCII and Unicode fonts are available in Bengal. Many people are using these fonts with new designs. Young font maker Sharif Uddin Shishir is dreaming that more Bengali fonts will be created with new designs made by new font makers.

This font is especially used for stylish writing or typography. Since it is a truly creative work, we have taken various initiatives to encourage people to take up this art as a profession. In addition to preventing font piracy, the work of commercializing the matter is also going on. The number of 33 Shishir's own fonts is 33. Notable among them are 'Sharif Teesta', 'Sharif Janata', 'Sharif Suvarna', 'Sharif Mithali', 'Sharif Swandeep', 'Sharif Bangabandhu', 'Sharif Adar', 'Sharif Shishir' etc. When asked what aspects are taken into consideration in the name of the font, he said that the number of current Bengali fonts has crossed a thousand. Personally I have created fonts for my own name as well as the name of the area. For example, I made 'Sharif Shahjahan' in the name of my father, 'Sharif Habiba' in the name of my mother, and 'Sharif Josna' (Upcoming) in the name of my sister.
