Shiplift

The terms shiplift or boatlift have two meanings. It can be used to refer to a crane for lifting boats, or ships, out of the water, for maintenance, of for storage.

Alternately, the terms are synonyms for liftlocks, a technology that enables vessels to transit large changes of elevation on canals, or canalized rivers.
