Creating a harmonic breakdown sure to energize a person, evoking exciting new experiences, rich in opportunities, resources, and never-ending entertainment; it never disappoints. Darshae quickly followed up this smash reinvention of Wonderall with yet another cover in 2019, Sunflower, by hit-makers Post Malone and Swae Lee . Darshae’s intriguing reinvention of the song, in a scaled-down piano composition, had listeners across streaming platforms guessing that this was indeed his vocal. Having graduated well beyond the voice introduced in previous years, Darshae learned to create something original from various genres, blending pop, hip-hop, and urban to build his brand. During 2021-2022 Darshae Kiér would come into his own, again elevating his stature in music. Darshae consciously decided to co-write, produce, and release his first full EP, Gone. Gone would turn out to be Darshae’s best music yet. Compiled of six new hits that introduced yet another chapter in his life, one could only characterize it as Inception. This EP included the songs Soldja, Options, Money, Desire, Trapped, and Gone. The 19-minute production features six tracks and is packed with gorgeous music, soulful lyricism, and Darshae Kiér’s lovely voice, which is sure to win new fans worldwide. The EP begins with “Soldja,” a reflective piece that perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the record. Listeners will become engrossed in the music as the Soundtrack progresses. “Gone” is one of those projects that instantly finds a home in the hearts of music enthusiasts. The musician aspires to “be the movement,” as his Instagram bio states and hopes to inspire others to pursue their passions. Darshae Kiér is sure to succeed in the industry. Along with being a wholly realized prophecy for a new year, a revived voice, an innovative sense of humor, and an elevated attitude, his latest project, “Gone,” depicts a resigned position of screwing the safe and screaming to the world, “IT’S MY TIME!”[ ] Gone features an exciting musical journey with a host of influences that will attract many new fans. Gone ushers in a time of creativity and power to fulfill a prophecy. The album redefines Darshae’s artistry. It features a lot of humor and a bold position to go against the safe and the conventional. The album is profoundly emotive and has a beat that keeps people dancing. Darshae Kiér is a great choice for exciting indie voices, particularly in the pop genre. His music has an energetic infusion of hip-hop that keeps the beat strong and the songs fresh. Each song is tightly built and Gone offers an excellent introduction to Kiér’s work with a series of exciting tracks that walk the line between several genres to create a unique listening experience. [ ] Known for challenging the status quo, Darshae mesmerized audiences with songs on the EP liked Trapped, Money, and Desire. From a glance, Trapped will leave listeners pondering. The track ‘Trapped’ is the fifth song from the EP, describing the dilemma between knowing addiction, lust, and deviance are wrong and indulging in momentary pleasures. The song, in all respects, conceptually, lyrically, and musically is brilliant. Moreover, the song is multilayered and engaging in its content. What we can say is Darshae Kiér, indeed, never disappoints. [ ] Trapped starts with enthralling beats and allures us with its thrilling arrangement. Another sublime element is its composition which is quite unconventional compared to his other notable songs, such as Halasana Girl and Wonderwall. The most evocative aspect of the song is Darshae Kiér’s vocal variety which is ingrained in his texture and distinct intonation.[ ] Another single from the debut EP is titled Money. A notable and remarkable aspect of the single lies in its lyricism which is embellished with vivid details and provides an ideal amalgamation of this distinct composition. Money is matchless, and music lovers would add this single to their playlists! [ ] Along with success comes wealth, and along with wealth comes extravagance. But despite this newfound lavish lifestyle which consists of expensive rounds, “deep pockets,” and “designer models”, Darshae humbly insists on keeping “my wits about me.”[ ] This song is a perfect introduction to Darshae Kiér’s most recent EP and a fantastic showcase of the artist’s insightful growth and one-of-a-kind sonic signature. From the catchiest hooks of modern pop to the style of a more personal and thought-provoking lyric, Darshae Kiér reaches the audience with incredibly appealing, deep, and heartfelt music. “Money” will resonate with anyone looking for a new beginning and a way to start with fresh energy.[ ]

Then there is Desire, beautifully crafted; this song is made of an exquisite musical arrangement and engaging lyricism. The song is enjoyable, but the lines like “Try to find the answer / Got a door to either side” express the deep conflict between the heart and mind, between logic and emotions. There is no doubt; that this single is one of the best musical projects by Darshae.[ ] He has a new magical tune, “Desire,” from his 2022 EP titled “Gone” – this is the mark of a consummate lyrist and performer. “Desire” is a powerful pop ballad that dazzles its way across a listener’s heart with the attention to detail involved right from the instrumental play- the stupendously produced heavy pop instruments possess striking sonic clarity and warmth and the passionate vocal performance slinks through the instruments with audacious power and effective control. His voice is big, bold, and expansive-an uncontainable force. Darshae Kiér’s unvarnished authenticity, musicianship, and lyricism will undeniably burrow into your bones!” [ ] Darshae has shown the mental strength of a titan with the mighty goliaths of ambitions coupled with the massive behemoth of talent within him, enabling him to scale musical heights in ways that others could only imagine.[ ] Twenty-twenty-two became a breakout year for Darshae. By far his highest streaming numbers to date. His buzz across multiple platforms identifies him not only as an artist to be watched but an artist to be curated and showcased across stages globally. The terminology ‘most’ will soon be attached to this Miami pop artist not because of what he has achieved but because of what he is steadily architecting on his rise to a grandiose stage. An engaged audience can take a lot of work to build. However, Darshae Kiér continues to find ways to engage a fan standing stage front or screaming his songs deep into the last row, giving them a reason to come back. Within Darshae resides a willingness to expose his vulnerability to show he is real and for his audiences to understand that perfection is a subjective art form practiced by those who seek validation and not value. Darshae wants audiences to know his struggle in Foster Care and how it didn't break him but designed and constructed him into a stronger-a force to be reckoned with in music. Darshae is notably remembered stating he wants people to tune into his stories and reflect on how the battle of losing it all (family) didn't supplant him. Darshae's story of life, loss, love, depression, pain, and growth is relatable to those who engineered mental firewalls to starve life's reality. However, he seeks to help people to understand that although there is pain, you can construct cognitive ladders leading to physical growth.

Early Life and education

Robert Darshae Kiér Boyd was born on February 21, 1982, in Bartow, Florida. His father is presumed dead, and his mother died at age 31 from lung cancer and throat cancer. His mother was non-denominational. His early childhood home was any place his mother, at the time, could find for them to rest. To tell his story is like writing lines on pages in an ever-changing book. To say that Darshae's life experiences do not still affect him would be an understatement. Darshae has taken the pain, anger, confusion, and mental chaos every day since he could remember and shoved it in a box and placed that box on a shelf. Over time, that shelf, while strong, began to warp, causing moments of doubt, truth, and confusion. At the same time, Darshae's story is relatable, and it deserves a place in the listening ears of others and in the speaking tongues of those who are sociable. Darshae Kier's story deserves a place in the cognitive calculus of those who cannot see their way out. Darshae being in foster care and boys' homes is not what he was; it remains still who he is. He cannot turn off this emotion, so he chooses to use it for those who can. Darshae's emotional experience gives strength when vulnerable. Early childhood memories are of a wooden shack with cracks in the floorboard separating the cold nights from the makeshift wooden fireplace where he spent some of his childhood. It didn't have heat but cracks in floorboards where you could see the earth beneath your feet. In the Fall, it was cold; in the Winter, it was freezing. Darshae didn't always have food to eat, and his mom would ask for spare pocket change from strangers as they made their way to mom-and-pop stores miles down the road. Darshae didn't have many memories of his mother as she gave him up to the system. Darshae can't even remember her face, but her grit was undeniable. Supposedly, he turned tragedy, like her death, into moments of realization that success is a matter of will, not a matter of wishes. Darshae’s early life story was of the world and how he was not beatdown by the foster care system, by bullies, by loss, racism, or by stereotypes. Darshae’s early life was about how he didn't let losing his entire family stops him from rising from 6ft below ground. Darshae Kiér’s account is about how an orphan and foster kid didn't allow an environment to define the outcome. Darshae lived in some homes with narcotics, alcohol, and absence. In other homes, there was hope, happiness, and faith. Darshae’s early life is curated stories of how he didn't allow racism, bullying, neglect, drugs, and alcohol blind him from the light in life Darshae's early life is about how he walked over hot coals at every turn, pushed off every symptom of pain, and rose to the occasion to build a growing brand and a trending artistry name. Darshae's story is about how a foster kid rose from very little. Darshae's early life was about the reality that some foster homes led to him wearing the same jeans to school on multiple days. Or not having name-brand shoes or clothing. While most students had families, he didn't even have friends in some homes. Yet, Darshae's early life is also about how a foster kid loved every detail of music as an art form and access point. His early life is intended to assert that when you are so close to success, you don't wait for it; instead, you build the locomotive and meet success at its next stop. Darshae sang at churches he was allowed to attend at eight, began playing the harmonica, drums, and piano at the age of ten and eleven, and started writing songs of all styles while still in foster care. Although he was not allowed to play sports, join a band, have designer clothes, or a car, his classmates voted him "most likely to succeed." Doing so, capitalizing on his prestigious award earlier in life as a Disney Dreamers and Doers that identifies and recognizes young people who have demonstrated excellence in their schools and communities and who act on their dreams of changing the world for the better. Darshae's story focused on him becoming the only person in his family's known history to join and complete military services and attend college. At 17, he decided to join The U.S. Marine Corps, where military service provided him an opportunity and a platform to tap into his inner courage and pen his confidence in action and words. While in the service, he earned the respect of colleagues and service members across the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard. Seeking to take full advantage of his service commitment, Darshae Kiér received multiple meritorious promotions, achieved high marksmanship and fitness scores, and was awarded Honor Graduate at the culminating of Marine Combat Training. While in the Marine Corps, Darshae attended multiple colleges stationed abroad, receiving both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the American Military University in the fields of Intelligence and International Relations and Conflict Resolution. After the culmination of his military services with an honorable discharge, Darshae exemplified how a foster kid could attack and defeat any mountain in life. To prove just that, he attended both Florida International University and Colorado Technical University Institute for Advanced Studies, where he later attained the highest academic achievement- a Doctorate Degree in Management with a concentration on learning theory, specifically in the andragogical and pedagogical disciplines. Darshae later investigated their association with Humanistic psychology. Highlighting that music and academic excellence both share space across his spectrum.

Life Challenges and Outcomes

1. Bullying. One of the biggest challenges in my life is recognizing I was more than negative words, stereotypes, the butt of jokes, the non-name brand clothes I wore, the shoe soles that came off, and much more. Not now know your worth and having it overshadowed by perceptions of others diminishes confidence at any age. But is this something that I can do? Meaning can I tune out the noise and amplify the vision of growth? Bullying is the nail in the coffin 6 feet below the ocean floor when you are young and have lost so much. When you have nowhere to turn, you must decide whether this will be your life or whether you will find a way to influence others who relate to my story. I overcame bullying by choosing to be my version of strength, mode my image beyond the harmful noise, and be the success story I want to be regardless of my condition and environment. I overcame bullying by knowing that, as a community, we are more substantial than any singular comment, content, or characterization. I overcame bullying by constructing my yellow brick road, where Oz was the culmination of every monster I passed along the way. The bullying didn't beat me because I chose to be the firewall for those beaten down so much that they could not stand tall.

2. Loss. Loss is a finicky thing. My mind says this is reality, and my heart says the loss is a fallacy. It was never about how this could be; it was more about how I retreat from this pain that has a hold over me. Anyone who has been a victim is familiar with the feeling. But few have been the victim of total loss. To see your mom, die before thirty-three. To know a brother was gone too soon from a life lost by a vehicle in the streets. Knowing other loved ones will never again be the image of the giant you aimed to be. My losses were stolen by alcohol, tobacco, and cancer. They made fun of the faith in my heart, knowing they had a homecourt advantage from the start. So many of my life's images are of death, physical and mental degradation, and defeat. I can remember many holidays alone because of the sadness in my heart that what I wanted would never be. I remember the sadness I felt seeing other families know this type of love is something I would never see. There will never be that opportunity to pick up the phone and say hi, mom, hi dad-just checking in. Or have those moments sharing those campfire stories. I can never be 100% over the loss. But I am 100% committed to showing I molded myself into an artist because of that loss. I am a minority, educated, and no longer defined by my losses but empowered by my successes. I was able to overcome these challenges through cognitive confidence and physical personification. I remembered that I had blueprinted my artistry. I sketched the idea of my brand, community, and growth. I dug the road, evened out the path, and laid the brick for me and my community to walk in unison. So, while I lost so much, I believe my team is building so much more.

3. Foster Care. I was once told I would be like any other African American kid who went into foster care. Somewhere along the way, I would slip up, become part of the wrong crowd, and eventually be put in jail--talk about encouragement. It was almost encouraged to get a different foster kid--not my complexion. To be viewed as just a number and product of the system hits the soul after penetrating the heart. Those words plague me, even to this day. When I see so many of us not make it out of the system, I double down on my many efforts in hopes of at least helping one of those kids. Foster Care can be excellent if you are in the right home. But, it can also be a never-ending nightmare not knowing if you will have food and a place to sleep. I moved so much that my life became a roving trash bag of clothes, shoes, and souvenirs. To feel you are not wanted, potentially not loved, to be seen as a dollar sign in some homes and not a family member warps your reality. It makes you ask, how can this be, and no one knows. But, my environment still needed to define my destination. I overcame this challenge by imagining that if given the platform for a change, I would take it. If I could use artistry to make a significant impact, would I accept the challenge? If anyone could relate to my stories and my outcome, would you pick up a pack and journey with me on this artist community-built road? By no means am I perfect, as I stated earlier. But I was put here in this environment because I want to highlight that anyone can make it--you may have to take the path through the swampy wilderness to see your Oz. I often say the only things you fail at in life are those you have yet to attempt. I overcame these obstacles and tests because I refused to believe the solution was to succumb. I show up every day in music, training, education, and mentoring, because someone out there may have lost their will to do so. What better opportunity to be a representative for them? I overcame the sadness by realizing it was easier to keep moving forward while you were hurt. I overcame foster care because I knew I lost so much to be able to give something back, finally, hopefully. I find hope in the little things and strength within the challenging ends. I see faith in the carefully curated winds and the protection of images and personalities as a strategic end.

By far his highest streaming numbers to date. His buzz across multiple platforms identifies him not only as an artist to be watched but an artist to be curated and showcased across stages globally. The terminology ‘most’ will soon be attached to this Miami pop artist not because of what he has achieved but because of what he is steadily architecting on his rise to a glorious stage. Darshae wants audiences to know his struggle in Foster Care and how it didn't break him but designed and constructed him into a stronger-a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Darshae notably stated he wants people to tune into his stories and reflect on how the battle of losing it all (family) didn't supplant him. Darshae's story of life, loss, love, depression, pain, and growth is relatable to those who engineered mental firewalls to starve life's reality. He seeks to help people to understand that although there is pain, you can construct cognitive ladders leading to physical growth.

Musical Style and Influences

Darshae Kiér’s music style has been described as pop,[ ][ ] and folk-pop. Darshae also incorporates rap into his music.[ ] Darshae’s earlier memories include listening to records of Tracy Chapman, Lauren Hill, Chico Hamilton, Sammy Davis Jr, Billie Holiday, and Lena Horne. According to Darshae, the album that introduced him to music was Aaliyah’s One in a Million. Early in his childhood, his mother would take him along to drinking bars and clubs that would inspire his musical creations. Later in life, Darshae became fascinated by classical vocal and instrumental music. He was finding deep connections with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Christian Bach, Charlotte Church, and others. Growing up in various foster homes, Darshae’s intrigue grew with divergent yet complimentary genres of music. On the influence of classical, Darshae states, “Elements of my music incorporate huge orchestral sounds allowing for the creation are curating of my personality.” “I remember not having much early on in life. But I always found it fascinating, the uniqueness of musical composition. I knew then music was what I wanted most in life. So to influence with architecting of sound, meant touching the world all at once.”

In a foster care and boys home environment not known for many success stories, Darshae evolved from being an orphan to a military veteran to being a musician, Darshae created his music path and quickly became a notable artist. Darshae is versatile, energetic, and passionate in his approach that people can easily resonate with his songs. Presenting an array of features: added humor, elevated attitude, catchy quirk, and other pop music developing instruments, the songs are worthwhile as they create different kinds of moods. Although the songs essentially belong to the pop genre, they mix a few elements of hip-hop. It is nothing but a show of Darshae’s versatility in dealing with different genres of music. Darshae becomes better and better every time he releases a new project, and it won’t be surprising to see him on top of the charts soon.[ ]

Darshae was quiet growing up. When would environments call for him to move, yet again, to new foster homes? Seeing faces and personalities change continuously around him caused him to withdraw from the world. As a teenager, he was shy. However, one of his most faithful friends in life was music. It helped him grow as a person and a keen observer of life. From observations, Darshae found a voice in poetry, music theory, and composition and eventually a home in music. He went from his mother’s funeral to seeing a piano, sitting down, striking the keys, and smiling. Darshae later stated I find silence and chaos in music. Silence in the story it tells and confusion in the emotion it evokes. You will not find a more complementary relationship.” Songs like ‘Trapped’ mixes the urban with a twist of hip-hop. It also has a pop-like groove with modern hip-hop beats. Moreover, the song is multilayered and engaging in its content. What we can say is Darshae Kiér, indeed, never disappoints.[ ] The song’s majesty illuminates the parallel spectrum of his musical influences across pop, classical, and hip-hop.

Other ventures Experience and Testimony

Darshae, an often challenger of the status quo, believed there is beauty in the quotes you create, not only recite. Early influences such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, and Friedrich Nietzsche demanded he tests the boundaries of what he learned and seeks out what was not commonly known. Darshae once stated, "The only things we fail at in life are those we have yet to attempt." Early in his military career, he volunteered at boys' and girls' clubs, seeking to influence youth professionally and asserting, "Your environment does not define your outcome." Illuminating in public speeches that "An academic institution is merely the structure by which informational knowledge is shared; it is what you do with such material that delineates your imprint on life." Darshae's most prominent notes are:

i. Your experiences may make you feel 6 feet below the ocean floor. Don't succumb; instead, rise and erupt like a volcano. ii. The U.S. Marines taught me always to be faithful. Foster Care taught me always to be creative. iii. I was brought up as part of the system, but I emerged to become more prominent than its symptoms. iv. I walked 4 miles for a bag of cheese puffs and a 2 Liter of coke. Celebrate your growth by humbling your mind. v. If you choose a life of importance, ensure you include the community that laid the bricks for your success. vi. Every idea deserves an audience. Ask yourself how to mold it into something special. vii. When you lose everything and everyone, your perspective shifts to how much more you have time to gain. viii. I wasn't allowed to listen to a lot of music until I was 14. Now there are symphonies in my head. ix. Don't measure success in accolades; measure success in attitude. x. Seek advancement in knowledge at every turn. You never know when such information will be your superhero. xi. Never give up because people aren't listening to your music. Instead, get back up, and keep creating.

Lessons Learned Darshae firmly believed that if you don't take the risk, don't complain about not being recognized. His notable quips garnered his attention and shocked many who could not see past the face that came with the name. He believed that success is measured in steps, not in salary. Never jump on the first offer but the complete option. Although you may lose everyone you love, your responsibility is managing the freedom; you must create more to love. His gift was not in what he has obtained but in what he has yet to sustain. Darshae believed in choosing to be successful at completing a small task and became a visionary in an enormous task. Darshae held close to the saying that you never know who is watching, so make every moment an opportunity to be more than a moment and a mention.

Personal life Darshae, in the beginning, thought greener pastures alluded him. He was almost certainly just another statistic on the block or corner, as many had been before him. Darshae had real tough time as a child. After the untimely death of his parents, he was placed in the foster care system and traveled from home to home. Darshae Kiér utilized his creative songwriting ability to compose songs that earworm his listeners.[ ] He was shuffled from foster home to foster home, but this only strengthened him, and he grew through adversity.[ ] The perception that he was capable of leaving this place (foster care) was as accurate to him as peter pan magically appearing out of nowhere and sprinkled with a bit of pixie dust, and off to neverland, he would fly. Darshae thought any imaginative dreamscape was better than his current situation.

Some might ask, was it that difficult, born in an environment? Was this to the reminiscence of the movies shown on television that paint similar pictures of being subsumed by the stark landscape of poverty, of the projects, of no prospects of getting out? Darshae once said, “I wish I could tell you it was a movie, that way, I could re-write the ending where I thrived, where my brother never died, and my mom survived. Unfortunately, however, this is not one of those stories.”

Darshae, within each other page of this book chapter, found dark spots where he was sure memories used to be. Where his definition of surviving met his ‘I am getting by and from that success was born…the end’. However, within the thinly veiled lines of what he continued to hide, and his hands dare not write, Darshae found flashes of truth. The truth seems to verify that he was poor. Instances validate that he was on the losing team every time he looked up at the score. Days and weeks that turned to holes worn in his shoes from walking five miles back and forth to the store. The minute one-sided walk on grass, then the road because the pavement was so hot that his tiny little feet grew sore.

Darshae remembers walking up the hill back to the little shack he called home, where the bag of chips was gone, and he could hear his half-brother call out,” is there anymore”? Darshae cannot remember much gratitude early in life. But he recalls humbling himself because kindness is not often extended to fools.
