Powerhug
Powerhug is the name of two fictional characters from the Transformers series. The original is a heroic Maximal who turns into a pill bug and was a reoccuring character in the Beast Wars II anime series. The second was an homage to the original who had a cameo in the Transformers Animated series.

Powerhug was named the 19th top unfortunately named Transformer by Topless Robot. [1]
Animated series
Powerhug appeared in the Beast Wars II anime series. Formerly mercenaries, the Insectrons ended up on the Antarctica region of Gaia where they live peacefully. Starscream tricked them into fighting the Maximals until the ruse was ruined by Galvatron's fits.
They later allied themselves with the Maximals. They had encountered their sworn rivals the Autorollers.
IDW Publishing
Powerhug had a biography printed in the Beast Wars Sourcebook by IDW Publishing.[2]
Toys
- Beast Wars II Deluxe Powerhug (1998)
- The toys for the Insectrons are recolors of several Beast Wars Predacons with insect forms and are meant to be different characters altogether. Powerhug is a recolor of the Predacon Retrax.
Transformers Animated
A bust of Powerhug appeared in Master Yoketron's dojo as a member of ther Cyber Ninja Corps in the Transformers: Animated episode "Five Servos of Doom" during a flashback of Prowl's training during the Great War. [3]
