MILIND PURUSHOTTAM KAMBLE
Milind Purushottam Kamble, also known as [Milind Sulekha Purushottam][1], is a talented independent filmmaker, film editor, and mimicry artist specializing in cartoon character voices. He is based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and has garnered more than fifteen years of experience in various aspects of filmmaking. Milind has worked on a diverse range of projects, including Hindi and Marathi feature films, short films, TV serials, and regional/national TV commercials. His involvement in these projects has been primarily as an Assistant Director or Associate Director, contributing his expertise to ensure their successful completion. Additionally, Milind has honed his skills as an editor and DI-Colorist, enhancing the visual appeal of films through post-production techniques. He has also lent his voice to dubbing cartoon characters, showcasing his versatility as a mimicry artist. Currently, Milind is engaged in freelance work as an independent Director and Writer. He is actively collaborating with emerging talents in the industry, striving to bring their creative visions to life through upcoming projects. As a mentor, he has also guided and supported established artists working across various domains of filmmaking and TV serial commercials. Milind's passion for filmmaking has been a driving force since his childhood, and he considers himself fortunate to have received unwavering support from his parents and mentors throughout his journey. Notably, he acknowledges the contributions of Mr. Avinash Jadhav, Mr. Rajesh Mayekar, and Mr. Milind Kishore Ukey, who have played significant roles in shaping his career and providing guidance along the way. With his wealth of experience and dedication to the craft, Milind continues to make his mark in the Indian film industry.
Early life and family
Milind Sulekha Purushottam was born on September 29, 1984, into a middle-class but educated Maharashtrian family in Mumbai. His father, Shri. Purushottam was an officer in Air India, and his loving mother, Sulekha, was a homemaker. Milind completed his primary and secondary education at St. Mary High School in Vashi. Since his childhood, he had a knack for imitating people's voices as well as animal sounds. He also developed a strong interest in computers at a young age.
Education & Interests
After completing his 10th grade, Milind joined Father Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology for a Diploma in Industrial Electronics. During this time, he developed a fondness for watching Bollywood and Hollywood movies. Later, he started studying computer hardware, software, motion camera work, and basic film editing with sound dubbing.
Struggles
Milind's elder cousin brother, Mr. Avinash M. Jadhav, was a film director who greatly inspired him. Whenever Avinash visited, he would guide and mentor Milind. Milind independently learned about film production, script breakdown, shot division, and various aspects of direction on his own film sets. Along the way, he received guidance from filmmakers like Milind Ukey and Rajesh Mayekar. Milind faced challenges in getting commercial work in the film industry due to the prevalent lobby system, which often led to frustration.
In the media
Milind made his directorial debut without formal training or education in filmmaking. Impressed by Milind's talent, his brother Avinash Jadhav gave him the opportunity to direct a short film named BHOOK-the hunger Milind's exceptional work received appreciation and encouragement from his brother, serving as a milestone in his career. Later, he established his own production company called FGM Film Production.
Awards and recognitions
Satara Bhushan Award Ceremony: Milind was invited as a special guest to this event attended by prestigious individuals working in the organization in the Navi Mumbai area. As a Satarakar, he was felicitated by the Satarkar Vikas Pratishthan Samiti for his contributions to the film industry.
- Navi Mumbai Sweet Home Trust: Milind SP was awarded the Veer Tanaji and Queen of Jhansi Award at a ceremony held on November 6, 2022. The award was presented by the office bearers of the Sweet Home Trust Committee, recognizing his accomplishments as a renowned film director from Navi Mumbai.
