He has been regularly featured in the list of millionaires in Latvia, since 2001.[1]

Biography

Mihails Suliks was born in the 1960s in the city of Liepāja in Latvia. He was very active as a child and was seriously engaged in swimming, played football, basketball and volleyball for the school team. Mihails' mother worked as a head librarian and probably managed to instill in her son a respect for books. At the age of four, he learned to read "Folk Tales of All Nations". Later, in middle school, he began to take a keen interest in the genre of fantasy. A special place in Mihails' bookshelf was occupied by books by such prominent authors as Jules Verne, Alexander Belyaev, the Strugatsky brothers, Conan Doyle, Jack London, as well as the book "Jean Green the Untouchable" by Grivadiy Gorpozhaksas.

He learned to play the guitar with the famous Austra Pumpure, and later he organized a school band on his own. Among the musical styles, he singles out rock and drive as his favorite ones. Since the age of ten, with the help of the VEF receiver and the Voice of America radio station, he has been listening to famous foreign performers and groups such as The Beatles, The Queen, Slade, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

In the 10th grade, Mihails Suliks moved to Riga and tried sea pentathlon, later becoming a member of the Latvian national team. At the age of 14, Mikhail Shulik, during the school holidays, began to try to earn "pocket expenses", as it was then customary to say. He managed to work as a grain receiver, a loader in a department store, and also packed elastic bandages.

After graduating from school, Mihails Suliks entered the Latvian State Institute of Physical Education, but studied there for a short time. After passing the courses of light divers in the defense and sports organization DOSAAF, he was drafted into the army, where he served 2 years in the engineering troops. He was demobilized with the rank of senior sergeant, diver, instructor of a sapper.

He graduated from the courses of sailors-minders, earned money as a port loader. He got a job in the port of Riga as a diver, planning to become a deep diver and then move north to work. Mihails later had a serious car accident with his motorcycle, after which he spent six months in the hospital and during another year he learned to walk again. All this put an end to the profession of a diver.

In an interview, Mihails Suliks once admitted that in his youth he violated the law, having two work books and four jobs at the same time, which allowed him to develop and earn money in areas that were not compatible with each other. He was both an amusement park technician and a DJ, and also worked in a recording studio. In 1988 he organized a cooperative. In 1989 he came to New York, USA for Christmas. Mihails came from a Soviet family and was amazed by the world, different from the communist way of life. At that time, many people wanted to move to the United States. But Mikhail decided that he would come to the USA on vacation, and not to work, which he successfully carried out in subsequent years.

To this day, Mihails Suliks is guided by the principle laid down in his early years by his father Vyacheslav, whose idea is the following words: "Children owe nothing to their parents, since a child pays tribute to his mother and father to his own children." Suliks also adheres to the principles in business, believing that a person can be deceived once, but business with him must be done all his life. In his working affairs, he is helped by intuition, which he calls a chuyka. The enemy of the internal filter, according to Mikhail, is only common sense, which sometimes interferes with intuition.

Mihails was brought up in the USSR as an atheist, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union he was baptized. Mihails is convinced that the church was invented to control the masses, but despite this, he believes that a person should have faith in life. During the interview, he said that he never asks God for help, so as not to take a queue in front of those who need it more urgently. He prefers to solve his problems on his own, relying on himself and those close to him.

He loves animals and admits that he will never become a hunter, unless life forces him to get food to feed his family.

During the biggest poker tournament in Latvia "Betsafe.com Rigged in Riga" he took the second place.[3]

Mihails is currently retired. He prefers tactical computer games, Texas poker[3] and outdoor cooking.
