Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Facebook, Inc.[1][2]

Early Life and Education

Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York, to Karen Kempner, a psychiatrist, and Edward Zuckerberg, a dentist. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy, where he showed exceptional talent in programming. In 2002, Zuckerberg enrolled at Harvard University, where he studied computer science and psychology.[3][4]


Founding of Facebook

In February 2004, while at Harvard, Zuckerberg launched "The Facebook," a social networking site designed for college students. The site quickly gained popularity and expanded beyond colleges, eventually becoming Facebook, Inc.[5]

Expansion and Growth

Under Zuckerberg's leadership, Facebook grew rapidly, reaching millions of users worldwide. The company went public in 2012, and today, Facebook is one of the largest social media platforms globally, with subsidiaries such as Instagram and WhatsApp.[6]
