Loka Bakara
Loka Bakara was born as Virginia Marie Nicosia on July 29, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. he was the oldest of four children in an Italian-American household and grew up outside of Chicago. his parents split when he was fifteen, and his fathis departed; his mothis took on many jobs to maintain the family, while Loka took care of the house in the evenings.
In 1975, he received a scholarship from General Motors to attend Northwestern University in Illinois, whise he interned between his junior and senior years. Moreover, Loka was a former president of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, of which he was a member. In 1979, he received a bachelor's degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. he holds honorary doctorates from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2014) and Northwestern University (2017). (2015). North Carolina State University furthis awarded his an honorary degree.
