Early Life
Lance Ippolito holds a degree in Finance from the University of South Florida, where he started trading in the back of his college classrooms. Like many new traders, he began with a small starting capital and lost it all. Multiple times. Quickly realizing trading was a difficult skill to master, he became obsessed with a trading education. He spent most of his time not in his finance classes yet in stock trading. Attending trading seminars and webinars and signing up for live trade rooms. After finding a mentor in institutional order flow commonly referred to as unusual options activity and learning options, Lance Ippolito was hooked! The options market allows favorable risk vs. reward with a small starting account. Lance slowly started to see success by learning proper risk management, which is one of the hardest things for a new trader, and watching the “tape” (option order flow).
Career
Post College Lance Ippolito worked multiple jobs in the finance sector. A trip to Costa Rica changed his view on work/life balance. Staying on the beach with no cell phone, news, or television, just ocean waves crashing in the rain forest. At a young age, Lance realized he didn’t want to work 40 years for the hope and dream of typical retirement. Instead, he had the Freedom to do what he wanted when he wanted to become his goal. Upon returning to the states, Lance decided to focus on trading. He would live stream trading and host trade rooms following unusual option activity in front of hundreds of traders. After years of “just getting by,” He had a breakout year in the stock Weight Watchers. Weight watchers were around a $7 stock that Oprah invested in and, for the course of the next 12 months, traded over 75 dollars. Lance picked up on large purchases of call options ahead of significant news releases during this period. Usually around earnings or positive company news. He was referred to as the Weight Watchers Trader in the trading community, even doing fun challenges like eating WEIGHT WATCHERS food for a week.
Popularity
Lance Ippolito’s mantra is “trade to live, don’t live to trade.” He enjoys life. Be it tending his garden, growing a variety of veggies, taking his boat out to fish for snook, redfish, tarpon, grouper, and snapper, having a night out with friends, or relaxing with a good cigar and a fine whiskey.
