Joel Klemmer
Joel R. Klemmer (Born April 9, 1985) is a leadership expert, author, and speaker who has over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles. .[1] He is a leader within the Federal Government and in private business. .[1] He is also a seasoned leadership expert who has authored a book titled “Strategic Synergy: Mastering the Art of Leadership in the Modern Business World”. [2]The book offers a fresh and comprehensive perspective on the multifaceted nature of leadership and delves deep into various leadership theories, from historical models to the latest in transformational and transactional leadership.[2][3]
Early Life
Klemmer was born in Park Ridge, Illinois on April 9, 1985. The eldest of two children. His father Robert Klemmer was a mechanical engineer who managed several roles including being a director within two companies. His mother Kimberlee was an elementary teacher.[1]
Klemmer spent the majority of his childhood in Wheaton, Illinois. There he attended Wheaton Warrenville South High School. During high school he participated as a competitive swimmer. He shortly held the Junior Varsity team medley relay school record for breaststroke.[1]
Career
Joel Klemmer's career journey showcases his early leadership capabilities, starting with positions as a head lifeguard and swim instructor, and quickly advancing to managing a retail store at the young age of 18. He ventured into entrepreneurship with Just Fitness, a company specializing in wholesale fitness supplements, but the 2007 financial crisis led to its closure. Klemmer's adaptability is evident as he shifted to roles in financial, human capital management, marketing, and advising, while also attempting to launch several startups.
His entrepreneurial spirit continued with the founding of KPS, a logistics company focusing on oversized loads. This venture led to collaborations with major corporations, but eventually, the intensity of the work led to burnout. Seeking new challenges, Klemmer accepted a position as VP of Sales and Marketing for a well-established moving company, only to be later recruited as an executive by a publication company. He returned to the moving company as VP of Operations, managing operations remotely from New York City.[4]
While in New York, Joel Klemmer expanded his influence as a social media personality, offering insights and advice on leadership, business, and management. The birth of his son Blake in 2015 marked a pivotal moment, prompting Klemmer to refocus his career. He acquired OsioMita and Favy for his company, Illuminated Studioworks, which later integrated into Aluxcord Corp. Concurrently, he began a career in the Department of Defense and joined the US Army Reserves, demonstrating his commitment to public service. However, personal circumstances, including his mother's health, led him to transition to a civilian acquisition role in the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Klemmer's passion for leadership and business strategy culminated in the authoring of "Strategic Synergy: Mastering the Art of Leadership in the Modern Business World." He currently holds a significant leadership position as a Division Chief for the US Army in Fort Cavazos, Texas, reflecting his enduring commitment to both personal development and public service.[5][6]
