Currently, he is serving as a Brand Manager in Bangladeshi electronics giant Walton. He is an emerging young icon who is constantly contributing to the brand field with his excellent skills.
Jiban was born in a prominent family in Barisal, the southern district of Bangladesh. He completed graduation from Dhaka International University he joined Walton.
His continuous success after joining as a brand manager has played a key role in increasing Walton's brand value and market share. More than once, his contribution leads Walton to prestigious achievements like the significant Best Refrigerator Brand-2019 & 2020, Super Brand, and Most Loved Brand. For Jiban, the path to success in the brand field as a non-marketer came with lot of hard work. His interest in knowing and learning in this field is the ultimate reason for this tremendous success. He has completed numerous google, Facebook and many certified courses on marketing throughout his career. Notable among them are marketing strategy as well as digital marketing strategy, business development strategy, and product development strategy.

In the very beginning, we want to know about a person Jiban Ahmed (your childhood, adolescence, growing up period)
If you want to know about the person Jiban Ahmed, you need to go to the southern division of Bangladesh, Barisal, because my birth, childhood, and most of my life have been spent in Barisal. Later, I moved to Dhaka for higher studies after college, and from here, I completed my graduation in Computer Science and Engineering, and after that, I started my career.
What is the reason behind establishing a career in branding despite being a computer science student?
I have had a deep interest in creative works since my student life, and as a result, I have been involved in creative work as well as starting to create networking with creative people; Since then, I have been involved in various branding related activities like Strategic Planning, Content Planning, Content Creation, Creative Work, Advertising, etc. And to be honest, I started to enjoy this job, and this is how it began.
What was it like to be a successful brand manager despite being a non-marketer?
First of all, I don't want to call myself a successful one because there is no end to success. My career started as an IT officer, but I was very passionate about branding-related things like TVC, OVC, Content planning, etc. I had a lot of courses in marketing, branding, and public relations from reputed institutes in the country. I also participated in various seminars and brand-related programs, among other things. I made an excellent relationship with the best marketers in the country. Later, I started trying to join the branding team. After trying 16 times in 3 years, I got the opportunity to work for the 17th time, and this is where the journey of my dream started. Mainly my passion and will force for branding made me today's position.
How much contribution do you have to the current position of the Walton Brand Team if you are asked to judge?
From the top management to everyone related to the brand team has the tireless work, effort, and dedication to build a strong position for the company. But yes, I'm giving my best for the betterment of Walton.
Which achievement as a brand manager do you think is one of the most significant achievements of your life so far?
Each achievement is significant to me, but the one which makes me more emotional is Walton Refrigerator gaining 70% market share across the country in 2019 and 2020 and becoming the "Best Refrigerator Brand" in Bangladesh. International brands of electronics products are usually in a strong position. Still, as a domestic brand in the refrigerator market in Bangladesh, Walton Refrigerator holds more than 70 percent of the market share.
Do you think branding has played a significant role in this?
Branding is a very challenging task. The product information reaches the people through the hands of the branding team. The more solid and beautiful the product's branding, the greater the people's interest in that product. I think all sectors of Walton have an equal contribution to all our successes. However, yes, proper branding of products is essential to create a product's market demand.
What inspires you at work?
When I see that people accept any TVC that I made or any project run by me, I get more motivation to do new things.
You've been involved in brand activities for a long time. How do you enjoy it?
When your passion and profession match, you will never be reluctant to do that work, and the output will be maximum. It's the same with me. Yeah, I'm enjoying it. You have traveled to many places in the country and abroad for work purposes.
How do you feel when you go abroad and see the products of your own company?
This is a different kind of feeling. Naturally, when you see your own country's products on the world market, what could be more proud than this!
What's your sadness? Do you miss someone, especially in your life?
Alright! This is my late father, whom I like most. He has taught me many things in his lifetime. I have learned lessons about social values, my dream of establishment in life, and being an ethical person from my father.
How do you get values and responses from others as an official of a renowned company?
Oh! This is amazing! The people are eager to know more about Walton whenever they meet me. They are keen to learn more about Walton's success stories more and more. Some of them also offer suggestions and give us advice indeed as well, and those things make me amazed.
Who was behind you to help in establishing corporate life?
Yes! He is Golam Murshed, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. He is leading Walton towards a new height. Walton is now a giant company under the leadership of Golam Murshed sir, as this company is exporting products to over 40 countries presently. His every action, every word is like an inspiration to me. I'm learning from him how hard work and perseverance can lead people to the peak of success and progress. I also learn from him that a person will be successful if there is dedication to their work, and those lessons are behind my success in professional life.
What do you prefer city or village for a living?
Well! Actually, the natural environment and village attract me very much as I grew up in the middle of the riverine nature of Bangladesh. So, I prefer the village for a living, but our earnings confined us to the cities. It's spectacular!
Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?
My future is uncertain, the time will fix my future, but I want myself in the leadership chair anywhere! I believe my works will lead me to the destination if the fortune favors me.
What would you say to the newcomers?
We need enormous courage as well as a strong will to be successful in life. We must have patience and be committed to reaching the zenith of success whatever we do, wherever we go. We need more and more focus on work because success will not come to you quickly in most cases.
