JR Bissell (born April 02, 1991 Phoenix, Arizona) is an American Numismatist and Entrepreneur. JR Bissell finds, sells, and collects treasures, rare assets pulled from shipwrecks, and other historical finds.[1] Through his company, Currency Grading & Certification Inc. which is the parent company of Pirate Gold Coins, he invests and manages rare artifacts.[2]

Career

In an industry dominated by elder generations when Bissell first started working with rare coins and jewels, he worked for his father's business. Making young people more conscious of the opportunities that come with investing in treasure, he claimed, is both his hardest struggle and his biggest ambition. He wants to popularise it and position it as a viable alternative to buying a home or equities. Bissell has created a community of like-minded investors who are drawn to rare assets like coins and jewels in the belief that the next generation is taking its place at the table. Community, authenticity, and cause-driven assets will eventually be the motivating element for young purchasers to invest.[3][4]

As the owner and operator of Pirate Gold Coins, a company that specialises in the acquisition and sale of buried pirate treasure as well as other sought-after treasures like prehistoric dinosaur fossils and Egyptian hieroglyphics, Bissell is well-versed in the topic of an object's enduring value. Having personally oversaw the sale of an actual $3 million baby tyrannosaurus rex skeleton as well as numerous other priceless artefacts, Bissell has an unmatched understanding of what it takes for collectibles to hold their value over time rather than just in the short term, giving him an insider's perspective on the world of modern art.[5][6]

JR Bissell is a modern-day pirate operating in reverse because he had a truly innovative idea for an investment. Not that he obtained a royal permit or a letter of marque to maraud and sink merchant ships, but he had the idea to locate recovered valuables and sell them online, even if only in small quantities. He established Pirate Gold Coins, the top online store for historic antiques. He spends his day searching the Internet for ancient antiquities, such as shipwrecked rescued coins and pieces of jewellery, dinosaur fossils, and Egyptian hieroglyphs, rather than pursuing Spanish ships in the Caribbean.[7]
