Illustrations of Jane Austen's works

Pickering's employer, Richard Bentley, purchased the copyrights for all six of Jane Austen's novels, in 1832, and Pickering is best remembered for the ten illustrations he produced for those novels. Records show he was paid five pounds for each book.
