History

Exotic Wood Zone was founded in 2013 by Jockey Mohammed in Saint. Louis, Missouri.

However, his involvement with the wood sector dates back to the 1980s, when his father, T.J. Casper, started Blue Mountain Exporters in Fort Kochi, India. Blue Mountain Exporters specializes in delivering exotic woods such as ebony and rosewood guitars to clients including Takamine, Victorinox, Maderas Barber, West Penn Hardwoods, and Marton Guitars.

Jockey began his career in the wood exporting industry and had a strong interest in the many types of wood used in the manufacture of musical instruments. He obtained valuable expertise working in his father's mill.

Jockey has been selling specialist exotic wood products to a variety of nations for the past 26 years, including Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the United States, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and Spain. To assist speedier delivery, he opened offices in Cochin and joined the NAMM exhibition in 2001.

Following his father's death in 2021, Jockey assumed administration of Blue Mountain Sawmill and Exporting. Blue Mountain subsequently amalgamated with the Exotic Wood Zone, forming Exotic Wood Zone India.

Since 2013, Exotic Wood Zone has developed a strong reputation among luthiers, woodworkers, and woodturners. Over the last decade, the firm has served over 100,000 consumers and has a significant presence on key eCommerce sites such as eBay, Amazon, and Etsy. We intend to expand our presence on additional platforms, such as Walmart, Home Depot, etc.

Exotic Wood Zone now operates from a large 25,000-square-foot facility in Saint Louis. With a diverse assortment of over 50 wood species in several categories, we have established ourselves as one of the Midwest's major timber suppliers. Our dedicated staff of 20 individuals works hard to provide the highest quality products and exceptional customer service.
