Personal Life

Emad Tohidi was born in December 1972 in Kerman. His father Seyyed Mahmoud Tohidi, nicknamed Arfa Kermani, is one of the contemporary poets of Kermani and activists in the field of contemporary Iranian poetry and sonnets. In 1979, he started his artistic career in music by learning the def instrument from his brother Fawad Tawhidi. He started his university studies in 2013 in the field of directing at the Faculty of Fine Arts and continued his master's studies at the Faculty of Cinema and Theater of the University of Arts and graduated from Moscow University in the field of Philology in 2007.

He is the holder of a first class artistic degree in tambourine from the High Council for the Evaluation of Artists and Writers. Emad Tohidi is the head of the title of "Daf" in the Islamic encyclopedia, the media director of Farhang Radio, the managing director of the filmmaking institute Arooj Film, an associate member of House of Music and specialized councils in the field of art, Academy of Arts and Broadcasting Organization. He is also the judge of many festivals including Young Music Festival, Ritmo Frankfurt, Bangalore India Festival, Fajr Music Festival, Rahmat International Def Navai Festival, he has been in charge of the Fars Music Festival, the Mohammadi Songs Festival, etc. Teaching philology courses at Moscow University and designing and holding specialized courses and workshops on rhythm, tambourine playing (solo, accompaniment and group playing) and introducing Middle Eastern music in different countries are some of his other activities.

Emad Tohidi is the creator of dozens of Biklam and Baklam music pieces, and artists such as Alireza Eftekhari, Mohammad Motamedi, Dawood Azad, Reza Sadeghi, Feridoun Asraei, Qasim Afshar, Majid Akhshabi, Sharif Ghazal and... have performed his compositions. He has also done many activities in the field of film soundtracks, series, theater, radio show and animation, including: Better Days, First Choice, Warm Soil, Lucky Taxi, Still Alive, Musho, A Good Dinner, Belief in Peace, Naqsh and Naqash, Earthly Verses, Burnt Palm, Bahmanshir, Angel's Nest, Battle in Battle, Sand, Myna Bird, Promised Promise, Like the Moon for the Sky, Smiley, Entertainer.

In 1992, at the age of 20, Emad Tohidi published the book "Shieh Daf Nawazi" and published more than one hundred specialized articles in the fields of music, literature, mysticism and philosophy in numerous foreign and domestic publications, and also translated three books in the field. Children's and adolescent literature has been published by Gam Publications.
