Early life and education
Dr. Mashiur was born in Rajshahi but raised in Dhaka. He received his primary education at Urea Sar Karkhana School in Gorashal and Mohammadpur Kakoli School. In his childhood, he enjoyed playing with his neighbors. Later on, he was admitted to Rajshahi Cadet College, a highly disciplined school in Bangladesh that is well-known for its quality education. While studying there, Dr. Mashiur developed an interest in cultural and literary pursuits. He was even selected as the Cultural Secretary of the boarding house due to his passion for these areas.

Dr. Mashiur hails from a highly esteemed family in Bangladesh. His father held the position of managing director at several manufacturing companies under the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation. Dr. Mashiur spent his formative years in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, where he was raised by a renowned artist, writer, teacher, and lawyer, in addition to his loving parents. His younger brother, Dr. Masudur Rahman, currently teaches at Marshall University in the USA, while his other sibling, Barrister Mahfuzur Rahman, is employed at the Supreme High Court of Bangladesh.
Educational background
Upon completing his higher secondary education (HSC) from Rajshahi Cadet College, Dr. Mashiur passed the entrance exam and was admitted to the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. However, he later received the prestigious Monbusho scholarship, a renowned government-funded scholarship in Japan. In 1995, Dr. Mashiur moved to Japan and enrolled in The Japanese Language School at the International Students Institute. He successfully completed the Japanese language certification course that same year.
Dr. Mashiur's higher educational journey began at Nara National College of Technology, where he completed an Associate of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. He then continued his studies at Toyohashi University of Technology, earning both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Driven by his passion for biosensors, Dr. Mashiur pursued a Ph.D. in Physics in Biosensors at the University for Advance Studies in Aichi, Japan. After completing his doctoral studies, he conducted Postdoctoral research in Chemistry (Biosensors) at Marshall University in West Virginia, USA.
As a result of his diverse educational background, Dr. Mashiur possesses a strong foundation in various fields, including electrical engineering, biosensor, clinical system, health app, software, and hardware. His passion for biosensors has been a constant driving force throughout his academic pursuits, and his education has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful innovator and leader in the Digital Healthcare field.

Dr.Mashiur began his career as a scientist before transitioning to startups, where he developed healthcare solutions. Over the past decade, he has focused on the digital healthcare field and has served as an Engineering Manager and R&D head. Currently, at Omron Healthcare Singapore, he leads the deployment of digital healthcare solutions across AP countries. Dr. Mashiur prioritizes taking scientific work to consumers and building viable business models. He has led cross-functional teams and implemented Agile/Kanban methodologies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. His expertise in system architecture, technical design, and analysis has enabled him to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to engineering teams. Furthermore, his strong customer-centric focus has empowered him to make strategic tech decisions and drive product innovation.
