Emmanuella Adaolisa (birth name Emmanuel Oliseh Ogaebulam)[1] was a trans woman and lead soprano singer in St. John's Catholic Church, Rumuolumeni in Iwofe area of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Adaolisa had kept her original identity secret from church authorities until her death in January, 2023. [2]

Education

Adaolisa graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Port Harcourt.[1]

Death

Adaolisa, who had been identified as a lady, died in a Keke (auto rickshaw) accident on 31 January 2023. Church members claim they did not know that Emmanuella was a man until mortuary attendants made the discovery.[3]

According to reports, a mortuary attendant who examined her corpse at the morgue of the hospital she was taken to had after examining her, alerted church members that she was a male.[4]
