In September 2017, Dealmed acquired Vantage Medical Supplies.[[18]]

In August 2021, Dealmed expanded its operations to Miami, Florida, marking the company’s first distribution facility outside of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.[[20]]

COVID-19 response

Dealmed saw a rise in requests from its customers when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in the U.S. in March 2020. The production capacity of Dealmed’s long-term oversees suppliers[[21]] became almost nonexistent. When there were supplies available, the costs rose. In 2020, Dealmed and Alibaba worked together to sourcing high volumes of medical and personal protective equipment designated to NYC based hospitals that were first and hardest hit by the Covid-19 Pandemic.[[22]]

Dealmed, based in NYC, was at the frontline of the pandemic and was one the first to raise the alarms of the PPE shortages.

Dealmed’s CEO also attended and advised the USITC on several hearings related to the healthcare supply chain, PPE, and the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Dealmed was one of the first company to warn of the PPE shortage and suggested in 2019 to Yahoo Finance that if there were to be an epidemic there would be shortages of critical supplies such as gloves and masks.[[23]]

Dealmed was also vocal about the healthcare supply chain and at times was very critical calling the healthcare supply chain unhealthy and critical of the overreliance of the industry of China and GPOs.
