Dave Sidhu is a film director, producer, and casting director. Additionally he serves as a promoter of Bollywood and Punjabi cinema in Australia.[1][2]

Early Life & Education

Sidhu was born 2 November 1986 to Jatinder Singh and his wife Surjeet Kaur at Barnala, Punjab. He studied filmmaking from Australian Film Institute (AFI).[3]

Career

Sidhu started his career as a casting director with Pareshan Parinda (2018) followed by Kuriyan Jawan Baapu Pareshaan (2021), Yaariyan Dildariyaan (2022) and Haterz (2022).[4]

In 2021, Sidhu announced a documentary short on the Qaida method of Maharaj Ranjit Singh.[5][6][7] Sidhu ventured in film direction with the release of Yaariyan Dildaariyan (2022) which he directed along with Virat Kapoor.

In 2023, Dave Sidhu collaborated with Harbhajan Mann for the music video Tere Pyaar Ne[8] and with Jaspreet Jazim Sharma for the music video Dholan Mahi.[9]

Cinetown

Cinetown extends a warm invitation to Punjabi cinema productions in Australia on Saturday, 6th May 2023, at the Grand Saffron located at 1/5 Danaher Dr, South Morang VIC 3752. The event will be graced by the presence of Dave Sidhu, Jarnail Singh, Karamjit Anmol, and Nisha Bano.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16]

Cinetown Awards

To support and celebrate emerging filmmakers who offer fresh and distinctive perspectives along with compelling narratives, renowned Indo-Australian Film Director and actor, Dave Sidhu, has established the Cinetown Awards. This annual short film competition, along with the Annual Awards Fiesta, aims to foster and promote talented individuals in the film industry.[17][18]
