Daniel Marcos

Daniel Alberto Marcos Hadjopulos (born April 5, 1972) is a Mexican serial entrepreneur,[1] business consultant, author, and keynote speaker.[2][3][4][5][6] He is the co-founder of Growth Institute[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] Marcos is a Certified Scaling Up coach,[23] EXO Sprint coach, Value Builder coach, and Multipliers coach.

Early Life and Education

At 8, Marcos started an aquarium business and partnered with a car detailing franchise to provide cleaning services throughout his high school years. In college, he joined the brokerage firm Vector in Monterrey, Mexico, and spent three years working on Wall Street and learning about stock markets.[24]

Marcos earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College at Wellesley, MA, in 2004.[6] He pursued Stanford University's Graduate School of Business program, Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative, and Education Scaling in 2017.[25] Marcos is a graduate of EO's premiere CEO program, the Birthing of Giants (rebranded as Entrepreneurial Master Program),[24][12][16][19][21] and Gathering of the Titans.[26][8][18]

He has completed certifications, including Scaling Up Coaches,[23] Open ExO, and Value Builder System Training (2020).

Career

Earlier in his career, Marcos was a Broker at Lloyd's of London and later served as a Financial Attaché to the Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong. In 1999, he created the first financial website focused on Mexican financial markets, Finanzas Web, which Patagon later acquired, an Argentinian financial platform. Later, he became the CEO of Patagon Mexico.[10][18][5] Marcos launched his next business just before the crash of the financial markets in 2008, which caused him to shut the company down as he was indebted $1 million. Subsequently, Verne Harnish, with whom Marcos co-established Growth Institute, later offered him a coaching position at Gazelles.[24][1]

Today, Marcos is the CEO of Growth Institute,[27][28] an online education company that offers executive education based on the Scaling Up methodology[29] to C-level executives.[26][2][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][5][21][22] It intends to help ten million leaders scale their companies faster and with less drama by 2040. In less than a decade, Growth Institute has been recognized 4 times among the top 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the USA by Inc 5.000, with over 55,000 members. Growth Institute is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and serves executives in 70 Countries.

Marcos co-founded Inflection, a management coaching company that helps business executives and entrepreneurs grow their companies faster. He is the founder, blogger, and columnist at CapitalEmprendedor,[30] a platform dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in Spanish-speaking markets scale their businesses.[26] He is the EO podcast host at Maestros de Escalamiento.[8][12][16]

Marcos is the CEO of ExO Education in partnership with Salim Ismail and serves as the Ambassador of Singularity University in Austin, TX.[24][9][18] He is a member of YPO, EO,[29][8][12][16][18][19] a columnist at Expansión, Forbes, Mexico Business News,[31][32][33] Inc.,[34][35][36][37] and Business Insider magazine,[38][7] and an international speaker who shared the stage with thought leaders, including Peter Diamandis, Guy Kawasaki, and Deepak Chopra.[26]

Marcos has spoken at several workshops and conferences on Scaling Up methodology and given recommendations to businessmen.[39][40] On June 2022, he participated in Cracks Mastermind, speaking about growing and scaling a business and sharing the bases of Scaling Up.[41]

Marcos was featured on radio shows and podcasts, including Voice of America,[26] The Business Year, and The Elevate.[42] His book, Impact X, is expected to be released in September 2023.
