Caroline khodadian • Caroline Khodadian (born on July 8, 1978 in Iran) is an Iranian Armenian dancer-performer. • She graduated from the Department of Law, Isfahan Azad University in 2004. • She started learning to dance at the age of 3 with Madam Yelena for one year. • Afterwards and because of the connection she felt with the Iranian classical dance and especially its combination with ballet, she attended the ballet dance classes of Ms. Katayoon Karimian (ballet dancer in Pars National Ballet Academy) for five years. • Next, she attended Sama (the whirling dance) and Flamenco dance classes of Ms. Fariba Azargoon. • She took part in many dance performances with the Ladies Dance Group in Vahdat Music Hall. • She takes private choreography classes with Ms. Karineh Manoochehrian • After many years of painstaking exercises, she was able to create her own fusion dance style named Samamenco, a combination of Sama and Flamenco dances. • She took private classes in Armenian classical dance with Ms. Sofy Devoyan & Ana kalashyan in Armenia. • She started playing Daf with Mr. Vandad Massahzadeh, the composer and conductor of Kooban Orchestra, and played Daf in many concerts in Andisheh Music Hall and elsewhere. • Afterwards, she practiced academic Daf playing with Mr. Zakaria Yousefi, a prominent Daf player and percussionist. • She also took classes with a Spanish teacher in playing Castanet for Sevillian dance. • She made her first solo Sama debut playing the part of Hannaneh in Hallaj Opera by Mr. Parvaz Homay, an Iranian prominent composer and singer, in Saadabad palace, Tehran, in the summer of 2018. • She performed solo Sama dances in Ararat Armenian Club, Vahdat Hall and Iranian Conference Hall in 2020. • She held a workshop at the Yerevan State Theater and Cinematography to introduce the rhythm and music of fusion Sama and Flamenco dance to theater students. • She performed Sama in commemoration of the Armenian genocide in Ararat Armenian Club in Tehran, in collaboration with Ararat Group conducted by Anahid Manookian. • In Siavash and Soodabeh play directed by Ms. Anoo Abad, Caroline Khodadian dancing while wearing a red costume, symbolizes the blazing fire through which Siavash (a hero in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh) should ride in order to prove his innocence. • She has performed fusion Sama in Mr. Zakaria Yousefi's Bi To (Without You) music video. • She has also performed fusion Sama in Mr. Siavash kamkar's Barg (Leaf) music video. • She has performed sama in Sayeh Gallery. • She has performed fusion Sama in Mr. Honan's Ashoob (Chaos) music video. • She has held several Sama and fusion dance workshops in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan and Yazd and continues to do so.
