Burqas suicide bomber
Died 2012-07-18

On July 18, 2012, the Burqas suicide bomber exploded a bus in Burqas Bulgaria.[1] The bomber also killed the driver, and five Israeli tourists. Other tourists were seriously wounded.

Initially Mehdi Ghezali, a former Guantanamo captive was suggested to have been the bomber, due to a passing resemblance between him and a tall, nervous man whose image was on security video prior to the attack. However Swedish authorities asserted they were sure Ghezali was not involved.

The assembly of the bomber's body parts did not match the tall, thin nervous man.[1] Bulgarian officials estimated the bomber weighed at least 218 pounds.
