Bukie Xcel
Bukola Wumi Oladeji, better known by her stage name Bukie Xcel, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur.[1] In 2004, she released a 10-track album titled "Koleyewon". [2]
In 2005, she was nominated for "Best Female Rap" at the Bubbles Music Awards 2005.[3] In 2016, her music video "Iwo Ni Reason" was nominated in the "African Music Video Award" category at the African Best Festival.[4]
Early life and education
Bukola Wumi Oladeji was born in Lagos, Nigeria on October 23, 1985. In 2007, she graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University with a B.Sc. degree in Political Science. In 2018, she relocated to Canada and also obtained a certificate from the Professional Institute of the University of Ottawa in Advanced Information and Cyber Security Leadership.
Career
She started her career as a rapper in 2003 while studying for her B.Sc. degree in Nigeria.[5] She has shared the stage with renowned Nigerian artists such as Ruggedman, Yinka Ayefele, Styl-Plus, Sound Sultan, and DJ Zeez, among others. Bukie xcel was also featured as a guest actor in Onyeka Onwenu's hit music video titled Arumbaa, directed by Akin Alabi.
She has collaborated with talented music producers such as Fliptyce, Danny Young, and David Jones David.[6]
Asides music, Bukola Oladeji is an entrepreneur ,equally gifted in dancing, acting and has participated in several stage plays.[7] She is also a movie producer who produced a blockbuster Nollywood movie in 2016 titled Betrayal with legendary appearances from Jaiye Kuti, Yinka Quadri. Bukola oladeji is the founder of Beecan Media , an Artiste Management , music distribution and promotion company.[8]
