In 2020, the BreakTudo Awards achieved a remarkable record by receiving a total of 94 million votes, demonstrating its growing influence and active participation of the audience. In 2021, the award was listed by Twitter, as one of the five most talked-about awards in Argentina, alongside other renowned awards such as the MTV Miaw, Grammy, IheartRadio Music Awards, and Sec Awards.[2]
The annual BreakTudo Awards ceremony is broadcasted through the Box Brazil Play streaming platform, recognized by Ancine as a leader in Brazilian content. Additionally, the award show is made available through the Telemilênio and Yeeaah TV channels, further expanding its reach and visibility.[3]
Nominees for the BreakTudo Awards are selected by a team of professionals specialized in entertainment and pop culture. The winners are chosen by the audience, who can vote for their favorites through the official website and Twitter. The "Brazilian Pop Icon" category is a special recognition award, not subject to public voting. So far, this distinction has been granted to Anitta, Ivete Sangalo, and Luan Santana. [4]
