Early Life

Anika Orpi is a Bangladeshi Environmental Activist & Author.[1] She was born in Kishoreganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 16 November, 2005. Anika is most popular for her work as a Youth Parliamentarian at Bangladesh Generation Parliament. Other than that, she runs a sustainability related book series named Green Shoutouts on Amazon.[2]

Education

Anika has completed her Secondary School from Kishoreganj Girls High School in 2021. Now, she is completing her Higher Secondary School from Gurudayal Govt. College, Kishoreganj.[3]

Career

Anika Orpi is a Youth Parliamentarian at Bangladesh Generation Parliament, in association with UNICEF Bangladesh.[4] She has been deliberately working for the child rights & environmental pollution of Bangladesh. Apart from that, Anika was a Content Writing Intern at Wreetu Health & Wellbeing Foundation, where she worked for spreading news about menstrual health to the children of Bangladesh. [5]

Awards

For her contribution to environment and sustainability, Anika has been nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize 2023, as the first Bangladeshi child in environment category.[6] Anika has also won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the British International Education Association 2023 Youth Stem Competition, where her team was the only Bangladeshi team to win any award in 2023. Anika's research work on chemistry has been accepted to the World Chemistry Conference & Exhibition 2023.[7]
