Piston is a third party Transformer made by Mach 5. He in an homage to the Transformer Generation 1 Deceptcon character Crankcase.

Mach 5

Piston is a third party Transformer homage to the Decepticon Triggercon character Crankcase.

This Piston is unrelated to either of the IDW Publishing comic-only Transformers characters named Piston. The first Piston was an Autobot who appeared in Spotlight: Blurr, while the second was a member of the Wreckers in Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #7.

Development

Mach 5 first displayed renders of Piston on their Facebook page in May 2013.[1]

Reception

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for May 27th, 2013 discussed pictures of Mach 5 Gauntlet and Piston.[2]
